ARRL VEC Exam Sessions
It is with great pleasure that the Wireless Association of South Hills announces resumption of VE Examinations. The constantly changing rules of the past year have made it difficult to get anything scheduled but as we see the light at the end of the tunnel we're ready to resume regular VE Exam Sessions. Our next VE Exam session will be held Saturday Febuary 26th, 2022 at 10A.M. at the Home Economics Building in South Park. The full address is 3735 Buffalo Drive, South Park, PA 15129. We request that people wishing to take an exam notify us ahead of time so that we can prepare in advance.
On exam day you will need: 1. The test fee of $15. It is strongly preferred that users provide a check made out to ARRL/VEC. We cannot guarantee the availability of change for cash payments. 2. A valid legal photo ID. 3. Your FRN number from the FCC. If you do not have an FRN you should create one in advance at https://apps.fcc.gov/coresWeb/ 4. For people upgrading an existing license please provide either a copy of your license or your CSCE as proof of existing status. People testing for Technician Licenses will not have an existing license. 5. Optionally, a calculator for any questions that require it. Smart Phones CAN NOT be used as calculators. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING FCC RULE CHANGES SINCE OUR LAST EXAM:
1. The FCC will now only accept FRNs as identification numbers. It will no longer accept Social Security Numbers.
